Arshad Nadeem Won Gold Medal for Pakistan in javelin at Commonwealth Games 2022

 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Pakistan’s best javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem won a gold medal on Monday morning.

During the first round of the final javelin throw, Nadeem set a new record by throwing 86.81 metres.

In his second effort, Arshad broke his own record by throwing 88 metres, and in his fourth attempt, he threw 85.09 metres to remain at the top of the list.

The Olympian established a new CWG record of 90.18 metres on his sixth attempt, becoming the first Pakistani to hold the record.


This is Pakistan’s second gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022. Previously, Pakistani weightlifter Nooh Dastagir Butt won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022 with a record lift of 405 kg.

Dr. Arif Alvi, president of Pakistan, congratulated Arshad Nadeem for earning a gold medal for Pakistan.

In a Tweet, President Alvi said, “Congratulations Arshad Nadeem on making history in Javelin throw and winning Gold Medal in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.”
