Our history is full of all kinds of people. It is natural for man to love great men. It is rightly said:
All history is the biography of great men.
The great men are the men of exceptional qualities of head and heart. They have changed the course of history and brought their nations to the heights of glory. They are liked and loves as heroes.
Quaid-i-Azam was one of those threat people who fought for the freedom of their nations. He is the founder of Pakistan. Quaid-i-Azam was born in Karachi on 25th December 1876. He received his early education in a local maktab. Later on, he entered into Missionary High School and passed the entrance examination. Then he went to England to receive higher education. After getting the degree of Bar-at-Law, he returned home. The business of his father was not going so well, so he started practice in Karachi thinking that:
A useless life is an early death,
Quaid-i-Azam shifted to Mumbai. At first, his practice was not very successful. But he worked hard and became a leading lawyer. His work for his nation is great. He was badly shocked to see the poor condition of his countrymen. First of all he became a member of the Indian National Congress. In the beginning, the Quaid-i-Azam was the champion of the idea of the Hindu-Muslim unity. He believed that both the communities should work together for independence. But by and by, he came to know the narrow-mindedness of the Hindu leaders. Then he realized that the Muslims and the Hindus could not live together in one country.
So, in 1913 the Quaid-i-Azam joined the Muslim League. He worked very hard for the freedom of the Muslims. He toured the length and width of the sub-continent and organized the Muslims on one platform. He fought against the wicked Hindus and held talks with the British rulers. His enemies tried to purchase him but he remained undaunted. He made a number of speeches and awakened the Muslims from their slumber. He convinced them that they had to fight for their freedom from the Hindus and the British. In this battle, many Muslims lost their lives but it is well said: Is death the last sleep? No! It is the last and final awakening It was due to his wonderful efforts that the resolution of Pakistan was passed on 23rd of March, 1940.
It was, in fact, the demand for Pakistan. The Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah showed great ability and tremendous courage in his struggle for Pakistan. His lifelong struggle was crowned with success on 14th August 1947 when Pakistan came into being. The Quaid-i-Azam became the first Governor-General of Pakistan. He worked day and night for the consolidation and progress of the country. Unfortunately, the Quaid-i-Azam could not live long after the emergence of Pakistan. He died on September 11, 1948. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a tall, dignified elderly man. He was speaker of the first rank. He was a model of sincerity. He had great determination. He was independent of opinion. He was a very wise and shrewd politician. It was because of him that we got a new homeland.
