Job Description



The Base Coordinator invests in the future of Southwest’s People through their work supporting Flight Attendants based in Orlando (MCO). This role will work on the small but mighty Orlando Inflight Base Team, who carries out administrative duties, addresses Customer complaints, assists with accommodations, assists with event coordination, and provides Southwest’s Legendary Hospitality to all internal and external Customers. The Base Coordinator is excited to join this tightknit and integral Team, where they’ll have the opportunity to drive the future of our Orlando Inflight Base

Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:





Duties and Responsibilities






  • Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals


  • Process all loaner uniforms and luggage (monitor and order inventory, distribute, and notify appropriately)


  • Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management database systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work


  • Maintain inventory and distribution of all loaner manuals (IEFB) and ensure all are in compliance and up to date


  • Process, order, distribute, and notify F/A's regarding expired ID's


  • Coordinate reservations, passes, and hotel accommodations for Staff Members or visitors


  • Open, read, route, and distribute incoming mail or other materials and answer routine letters


  • Maintain employee recognition activities/events


  • Prepare agendas and make arrangements for Leadership, such as coordinating catering luncheons for committee, board, and other meetings


  • Read and prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements, and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software


  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders










Job Requirements





  • Knowledge of the administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as processing words, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology


  • Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services which may include Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer Satisfaction


  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems


  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense


  • Ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, sounds, touch, or other sources)


  • Ability to remember information, processes, and procedures, and recall as needed to perform duties with minimal direct supervision


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Teams


  • Required: High School Diploma or GED


  • Intermediate-level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:


  • Office administration and general office duties


  • Payroll and timekeeping


  • Scheduling and reporting


  • Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements


  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time


  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job


  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job


  • Ability to move/transport up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis


  • Ability to work at elevated heights

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines


  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986


  • Must be at least 18 years of age


  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
