Search Engines Guidelines
Google Webmaster Guidelines
Basic principles:
- Make pages primarily for users, not for search engines.
- Don't deceive your users.
- Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you, or to a Google employee. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"
- Think about what makes your website unique, valuable, or engaging. Make your website stand out from others in your field.
What things can't be done:
- Creating Automatic Generated Content
- Use of link scheme or misuse of link.
- Creating content by title or copying content from someone else.
- Cloaking or showing some content to the search engine and another type of content to the user.
- Using Hidden Texts or Links
- Doorway pages - Creating pages for specific searches, so that they rank and get visitors from search.
Bing Webmaster Guidelines
Basic principles:
- Creating clear, deep, engaging, and easily found content.
- Clear the title of the page and match it with the content.
- The link is viewed by Bing as a search engine ranking popularity and rewards the original link.
- Social media activity and social shares are counted as positive signals and help to get organic rankings.
- The page speed of the site is an important factor that helps in increasing the user experience and gaining rank.
- Use of Alt Tag so that Bing search engines can understand the image and content.
Things not to do:
- Pages that contain a lot of ad and affiliate links are redirected to another website, and those that have no rank cannot be used for normal link building.
- Misuse of links, purchase of links, use of link schemes resulting in de-indexing of the website.
- Creating URLs using specific keywords, not following any parameters, using duplicate content.
- Maximize URLs with specific keywords, use more keywords, do not use any numbers
- Use JavaScript / Flash / Silverlight content on purchased links.
- Use of duplicate content.
- Keyword stuffing.
- Cloaking - showing one type of content to the search engine and another type of content to the user.
Making a Website with users in mind
It is not possible to get rank for SEO through any shortcut method without following the search engine guidelines. If you create user-friendly content and sites and if it meets the needs of the users, then your site will rank in search engines in the long run.
For example, the user searches the search engine for his needs and clicks on their desired result. And if you want to keep your site in such results, you must keep in mind the users.
For example, if you visit a restaurant site, the user should be able to search with certain keywords and keep in mind what kind of information they want, so that a user can find your site by searching with restaurant-related keywords and find the right information.
With SEO, you can find out what keywords you are searching for and what you need to do on the content site.
Here are some common types of common user needs:
Informational: Searching for information.
> For example: “Which mobile phone is best for a selfie”
Navigational: Searching for something specific.
> For example: "Prothom Alo", "Google", "I Phone".
Transactional: Searching for something to buy.
> For example: "Online shopping in BD".
