WhatsApp Dark Mode available on Android and iOS
One of the most mentioned features in WhatsApp in the most recent few years has been the WhatsApp dark mode. At last, it is available on iOS & Android; we can now manually set the dark mode for WhatsApp, or have the application coordinate the theme automatically.
The good news is that if you want to enable Dark Mode on your Android or iOS device, you can, and here are some quick steps that can help you achieve that goal.
One thing to note here is that Android users who have the latest Android Q beta version can only enable this feature so far.
WhatsApp says on March 3, 2022, dark mode is available by updating WhatsApp for All WhatsApp Users around the world. It’s very easy to enable, you have to do this!
How to enable WhatsApp dark mode on Android?
- Open WhatsApp
- Tap the action menu (three vertical dots) looks like this ( : )
- Tap settings
- Choose Chats
- Choose Theme
- In the Choose theme dialog box, select Dark
- You can see the User interface switch to a dark theme

How to enable WhatsApp dark mode on iOS?
Step 1: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Invert Colors > Smart Invert
On step 2: You have now enabled dark theme across all the apps on the device
And step 3: Same as Android, you will have to choose dark or no wallpaper for WhatsApp chat threads. Go to WhatsApp Settings > Wallpaper> None
So there you have it. Whether you're using an Android or iOS device, you can turn on Dark Mode in WhatsApp by following the steps above.
