UAE Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate not required for returning residents


Big news came from Emirates Airline for those want to return to Dubai. As per Emirates Airline, Covid-19 vaccination certificate is no longer a requirement for those travelling to Dubai from countries including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

This is specific to travel to Dubai and not other emirates.

In earlier announcement on August 1, UAE Government announced that residents from six countries including Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Nepal and Uganda from where passenger entry is suspended can return to the emirates.

Emirates Airline Entry Terms:

1.       1.       Dubai visa holders must apply for pre-entry approval through GDRFA.

2.       Passengers must have a valid Covid-19 test certificate issued within 48 hours between the time of sample collection and scheduled flight departure. Only Covid-19 PCR test reports from certified labs that issue a QR code linked to the original report will be accepted.

3.       Passengers must complete a Covid-19 PCR rapid test four hours before the departure of their flight. Rapid antigen test will not be accepted.

4.       Passengers must complete a Covid-19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai.

Dubai Airport Operations:
The Dubai Airports Operations Control Centre also sent out a notification to airlines stating returning residents need pre-approval.


The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) had announced that returning residents need an ICA Approval to return.
