Same Holidays Updated for Public and Private Sectors in UAE


Good news for Private sector employees in UAE, UAE Cabinet approves national holidays for the year -, and grants the private sector the same number of holidays as the public sector.

The decree aims at achieving a balance between both sectors (public/private) and supporting the national economy, the ministry said in a tweet.

It will also make it easier for citizens and residents to plan their vacations in advance and to strengthen social ties between all segments of the society.

The move will contribute to streamlining work in both the public and private sectors, and enhance the attractiveness of the private sector for Emiratis.

Public and Private Sector holidays:

New Year: (1 January )
Eid Al Fitr: (29 Ramadan-3 Shawwal)
Arafah Day: (9 Dhu al Hijjah)
Eid Al Adha: (10-12 Dhu al Hijjah)
Hijri New Year: (23 August)
Commemoration Day: (1 December)
National Day: ( 2-3 December)
