Good News as His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid announced and extended the UAE Golden visa to more professions. Earlier the Ministry of Justice in UAE has issued a circular that demonstrates the amends made to the UAE Citizenship Act. Now UAE residents can get Emirati Nationality or Golden Visa provided they meet certain criteria.
Earlier this year, UAE Citizenship proposal allows for investors, specialised talents, professionals including Doctors, Engineers, Scientists, authors and artists with their families of any nationality to be granted an official UAE citizenship, in compliance with a list of conditions written below.

UAE Golden Visa for 10 Years:
Also, on August 20, , the UAE extended a long-term residence visa also known as UAE Golden residency with validity for 10 years, (automatic renewal), upon the availability of the same conditions, for categories that now includes.
1. PhD degree holders:
Under the law, professionals holding a PhD degree will be awarded the Golden Visa. The individual should be holding a PhD degree from 1 of the top 500 universities in the world.
2. Doctors:
The authorities also allow all doctors to obtain a 10 year golden visa. Doctors specialising in viral epidemiology will be awarded the Golden Visa.
3. Engineers:
In order to attract talent in engineering field, all engineers in the field of computers, electronics, programming, electricals, electronics, active technology, AI, and Big Data can obtain the 10 year golden visa.
4. Highly qualified individuals:
The UAE also offers 10-year golden visa to highly-qualified individuals who have achieved high scores of 3.8 or more from approved universities.
5. Researchers/Scientists:
This category includes researchers and scientists who are specialists in their respective fields. Scientists must be accredited by Emirates Scientists Council or holders of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Medal for Scientific Excellence.
6. Inventors:
The UAE also offers 10 years golden visa to inventors but they must obtain a patent of value, which adds to the UAE's economy. The Patents must be approved by the Ministry of Economy (MoE).
7. Artists:
Creative individuals in the field of culture and art will be awarded the golden visa. They must be accredited by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development.
8. Investors:
Investors who have invested 10 million AED or above can also apply for a golden visa. This investment can be in the form of a deposit in an investment fund, the establishment of a company or investment in real estate, or any other strategic sector.
UAE Golden Visa for 5 Years:
Below is the list of professionals who can obtain a 5-year golden visa:
1. Entrepreneurs:
This category includes those having an existing project with a minimum capital of 500,000 AED, or those who have the approval of an accredited business incubator in the UAE.
The entrepreneur is allowed a multi-entry visa for 6 months, renewable for another 6 months. The long-term visa includes the spouse and children, a partner and 3 executives.
2. Outstanding students:
This category includes students with a minimum grade of 95 percent in public and private secondary schools university students within and outside the country having a distinction GPA of at least 3.75 upon graduation. The long-term visa includes families of the outstanding students.

UAE Citizenship Rules:
The new citizenship system will allow UAE residents, foreign expats and their families wanting come to work, live and study in the UAE, to enjoy long-term residency without the need for an Emirati sponsor, with 100% ownership power within the emirates of the UAE.
The UAE cabinet, local Emiri courts & executive councils will nominate those eligible for the citizenship under clear criteria set for each category. The law allows receivers of the UAE passport to keep their existing citizenship.

Those eligible for an Emirati citizenship will have the option to keep their existing nationalities.
The citizenship conditions include the following:
1. UAE Citizenship will be granted to eligible foreigners.
2. To have a lawful and continuous residence in the country.
3. To be proficient in the Arabic.
4. To have a legitimate means of subsistence.
5. To have an academic qualification.
6. To be of good conduct.
7. That he has not been convicted of a felony or misdemeanour that violates honour or trust unless he/she is rehabilitated.
8. Security clearance and approval is must.
9. To swear an oath of allegiance to the UAE.
This is a current proposal by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) for a change in the UAE legislation which is currently being finalized to become law. An official announcement should then be made by the UAE official gazette, the UAE Gov periodic publication which contains all legislation issued by the Government of Dubai including laws, decrees, resolutions, regulations, bylaws, instructions, and orders.
Another amendment to the Citizenship Act stipulates that a foreign woman married to a citizen may be exempted from the application of Clause (5) of the Article.

Earlier, the Dubai government announced the launch of the “Retire in Dubai” program that will offer resident expatriates and foreigners aged 55 and above to apply for a retirement visa in its bid to turn the emirate into a retirement destination.
