JKBOSE Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) came into existence under the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education Act, 1975. It is popularly known as JKBOSE. It was formed with an aim of conducting the public examination for class 10th and 12th through the entire state.

Secondary and senior secondary exams take place in two divisions. The first division is the Jammu division and the second division is the Kashmir division. For the Jammu division, the exams are divided into summer and winter zone. In the Kashmir division, the exams are divided as annual and bi-annual.
