How to Add Site or YouTube links in Instagram Stories

Instagram is a popular social platform for sharing links about work or some articles and stories. Influencers and creators often use links to ask their followers to go to work online, promote other brands or promote products. Earlier, Instagram had introduced a 'swipe up' option to include links to Instagram stories, but it was recently replaced with Instagram stickers. This new feature enables users to add links anywhere in the Instagram story. It is no longer limited to the bottom of the page.

Which users are allowed to use this feature?

The people who have more than 10k followers on Instagram, or have a verified account, or represent an established brand are allowed to add links to Instagram stories. Instagram may have imposed these restrictions to prevent the spread of misinformation and misleading links on the platform.

How to add different links to Instagram Stories

Followings are the simple foot to add links in your Instagram Stories.

  1. Swipe left to upload an Instagram Story after opening Instagram.
  2. Add a photo or video and edit it as you desire.
  3. Swipe up to open the editing tray and a Link option (a chain icon) should show up right next to Poll.
  4. Click on it and paste the URL you want to share with your followers.
  5. A part of the link will be displayed in your story sticker so that followers can be notified before clicking.
  6. You can place the sticker on any part of the Instagram Story.
  7. Share your story by clicking on the share to option and make it live. The link will be clickable for everyone who sees your Instagram story.

It is important to reiterate that users should be careful when sharing contacts with their audience. Check the authenticity of the link and make sure it is not a phishing or spam link.
