Job Description
Responsible for the production and creation of graphic design or multimedia content, including higher profile, complex projects, and communication, on behalf of Southwest Airlines. Projects include a quarterly magazine for Employees, promotional materials and collateral, social media and storytelling content, production of Internal and External Customer brand initiatives, Executive-level visual communication, photo and video shoots (in studio or on location), podcast production, and other projects requiring creative assistance supporting internal and external applications on behalf of Southwest Airlines.
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Conceptualize and provide intermediate-level creative consultation and solutions to internal Clients and external partners
Align project resources, including collaboration with other Creative Studio members, to create timely creative solutions that deliver measurable business results
Build and maintain buy-in and trust within Team and be able to distill minimum to large scale complex issues down to an easily understandable and actionable task
Conceptualize and create complex graphic design or multimedia production solutions and content for Employees and Customers across various channels to support Company initiatives
Foster and maintain relationships with Company resources, peers, and Clients to maintain brand health, governance, camaraderie, and creative opportunities
Actively manages and facilitates the entire creative project process: ideation, storyboarding, development, medium selection, revisions, file finalization, and deadline management
Serves as a creative mentor for new team members, interns, and freelancers
Ability to manage and prioritize complex and dynamic projects and deadlines
Stay current with creative trends, software, tools, channel execution, and shares with Creative Studio Team
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Job Requirements
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Intermediate experience in graphic design or multimedia production
Intermediate skills in Adobe Creative Suite and/or photography, video equipment, lighting and audio equipment, editing, and other industry standard equipment
Developing skills in motion graphics and/or in development of on-screen graphics and transitions
Intermediate knowledge of visual communication (either graphic design or multimedia production), and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
Fully versed in various graphic design or multimedia production techniques, tools, software, editing, creative principles needed in concept and creation
Skilled and attentive in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Skilled in using logic and reasoning to problem solve and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Ability to listen, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
Ability to come up with a variety of unusual and clever concepts about a topic or to solve a problem
Ability to manage and oversee complex and dynamic assignments at once, while meeting deadlines
Ability to educate others on the intricacy of brand standards and interpret the standards to further evolve the brand
Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to use a computer, Adobe Creative Suite, and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Ability to travel to remote locations for photoshoots, events, and vendor collaborations
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date to comply with Executive Order 14042, which requires employees of federal contractors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
