Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad, has officially recognized the legitimate demands of student protesters.
According to the official notice, QAU has agreed to enhance tuition costs by 5% each year for new entry while offering a 30% service charge refund to enrolled students in Spring Semester 2021.
Additionally, in 2021, the Student Support Fund and Libraries Fund will stay unchanged from last year. For this year, the Libraries Security charge will stay unchanged at Rs. 5,500, while the Department Security charge will be decreased to Rs. 6,000.
For this year, the hostel security charge will stay at Rs. 5,000, while the mess security charge would decrease to Rs. 4,000 in 2021.
Transport will be provided for students enrolled in all evening programs, and approval of a dormitory facility for students enrolled in all evening programs, according to seat availability, will be requested from the appropriate forum.
Finally, Dr. Ali has promised students that they would be given priority in obtaining private hostels and has extended the hours of the Dr. Razi-ud-Din Siddiqui Memorial (DRSM) Library until 9 p.m.
