Facebook Messenger: How to use it without a Facebook account

Facebook feeds can often lead to more information loads. There are times when you may wish you had enough chats on Facebook messenger or posts on Facebook, but you won't be willing to stop checking social networking sites several times a day. You may be thinking of quitting Facebook altogether.

Then you feel like you want to keep in touch with some people who are not on any other social platform. I know you are wondering if you can get rid of your Facebook account but stay in touch with friends through Facebook Messenger, the answer is yes.

There are two ways to do so:
  1. Deactivate Facebook
  2. Use the Facebook Messenger app, don't create a Facebook account

How to deactivate a Facebook

Facebook doesn't really want you to delete your account. Therefore, after the deletion process, it puts your account on hold for 30 days. That way, if you change your mind, you'll be able to protect your account from being misled. After 30 days, the company will finally delete your account, but it may take up to three months to remove your personal information from the site. Even logging in once takes your account off the "delete" queue.

So, here's how to do the activity:

  1. Open Facebook's deactivate account page.
  2. Ignore pictures of people who think they'll miss you and go down.
  3. The last option states that you can continue to use Facebook Messenger even if you deactivate your account. Make sure it is not checked and leave it as is.
  4. Scroll down and press Deactivate.
Your Facebook account will now be deactivated. All of your Facebook data will be safe until you're ready to log in again.

Open Facebook Messenger on your smartphone or log in to your computer via the website. Your old Facebook data still works for this. You will see that you can continue chatting with all your friends.

That way you can get rid of Facebook and stay in touch with your friends without losing any of your data.

If you have deactivated your Facebook account and you use Facebook Messenger, it does not reactivate your Facebook account. Your friends will only be able to contact you through the Messenger app or the Facebook chat window.
