Shehbaz undergoes CT scan amid cancer reports

ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif, underwent computed tomography (CT) scan at a hospital in Islamabad, ARY News reported on Sunday.

According to sources, the medical board constituted on order of the court had suggested CT scans of former chief minister Punjab. The board will analyse report of the CT scans tomorrow (Monday).

ARY News, citing its sources, on Nov 23 reported that the medical report of Shehbaz Sharif had showed signs of a ‘blood cancer’.

Medical board, comprising three doctors of polyclinic, examined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and conducted his blood tests after he complained of pain in his throat.

As per sources, his report indicates signs of Chromogranin A (CgA) and his adenoid cystic carcinoma node level was found to be at 688. The normal level is considered to be 100.

Following the findings of his medical report, doctors had advised that Shehbaz’s CT scan be conducted on an urgent basis, sources further said. It is the second time that the former chief has been diagnosed with cancer.

The National Accountability Bureau on Oct 5 arrested Shehbaz Sharif inside its Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.
