Skoda testing drone for stocktaking

This is how Skoda is experimenting with a drone to do stocktaking tasks, writes Brian Byrne.

At its Mladá Boleslav plant, the Czech car manufacturer is currently testing the unmanned aerial vehicle, which can identify and count containers outside the factory from the air.

The drone fully autonomously records the number of empty containers outside a factory hall three times per day. The data is then automatically transferred to the IT systems at Skoda Auto's logistics department, where it can be processed.
