Eligibility: A candidate shall be eligible to appear in the examination if he/she is (a) a citizen of India; (b) a person who has practised as an Advocate for not less than 7 years.

Selection Process: Delhi Higher Judicial Service Examination in two successive stages:-

(1) Delhi Higher Judicial Service Preliminary Examination (objective type with 25% negative marking) for selection for the main examination; and
(2) Delhi Higher Judicial Service Main Examination (Descriptive) for selection of candidates for calling for Viva voce.

Application Fee (A Non-refundable): ₹ 1000/- for General Category candidates and ₹ 200/- for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Physically Handicapped (Blind / Low vision) (mobility not to be restricted) candidates should be paid through Debit Card / Internet Banking.

Age Limit: 18 to 27 Years as on 1st January 2017 (i.e. he / she must have been born not earlier than 02/01/1990 and not later than 01/01/1999). The upper age limit for members of Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) shall be 32 years and for Other Backward Classes (OBC) 30 years.

Educational Qualification:

Court Attendant / Room Attendant -> Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognized Board (OR) Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Pass Certificate from a recognized Institute.

Junior Judicial Assistant / Restorer -> Graduate Degree from a recognized University having minimum of 40 words minute in English on Computer.

Selection Process: Written Examination and Interview.

Examination Fee: A non-refundable online fee of ₹ 300/- will be payable by male OBC candidates alongwith applicable transaction charges. No fee shall be charged from the SC/ ST/ Persons with disability/ Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates. The fee can be made through Online mode using Debit Card / Net Banking during filling Online Application Form (OR) Bank Challan.

The Syllabus for the Preliminary (Objective) Examination: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English Language and topics on Constitution of India, Evidence Act, Limitation Act, Code of Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Contract Act, Partnership Act, Principles governing Arbitration Law, Specific Relief Act, Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession Act, Transfer of Properly Act and Negotiable Instruments Act.

The Syllabus for the Main (Descriptive) Examination: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English Language and topics on Constitution of India, Indian Evidence Act. Limitation Act, Code of Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Contract Act, Partnership Act, Principles governing Arbitration Law, Specific Relief Act, Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession Act, Transfer of Property Act and Negotiable Instruments Act.

Application Fee (non-refundable): ₹ 1000/- for General Category candidates and ₹ 200/- for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Physically Handicapped (Orthopaedically Handicapped {OA - one arm affected (Right or left), OL - one leg affected (right or left), BL - both legs affected but not arms} candidates should be paid in the form of a single demand draft pay order. The demand draft / pay order should be drawn in favour of 'Registrar General, Delhi High Court, New Delhi' payable at New Delhi.

How to Apply: The eligible candidates shall submit their applications online only in the prescribed format through the official website of High Court of Delhi from 18/01/2016 to 08/02/2016 (till 11.59 P.M.)

The print out of online filled up Application form (on A4 size paper) along with Application Fee (Demand draft / pay order) to be addressed to the JOINT REGISTRAR (VIG.), HIGH COURT OF DELHI, SHER SHAH ROAD, NEW DELHI - 110 503 sent by "Speed Post / Registered Post" ONLY. The closing date for receipt of applications is 15/02/2016 up to 4:00 PM. The Print out of online filled up Application form (on A4 size paper) along with demand draft/pay order can also be submitted personally at the Filing Counter of Delhi High Court on any working day from 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. till 15/02/2016.
