 Marco Polo was born in Italy at the city of Venice in the middle of 13th century.Marco Polo was born on September 15, 1254 and died on  January 9, 1324.He was  a Venetian merchant traveller.His travels are recorded in "The Travels of Marco Polo." It is a book that introduced Europeans to Central Asia and China.  Marco. Polo’s adventure began when he accompanied his father to China.' in one of the latter’-s trade trips to that country.

Marco Polo was only seventeen years old then. He'stayed in China for seventeen long years.-On his return, he narrated fascinating accounts of the land and people of China. Once Marco Polo was made a prisoner of war. In the prison he got the account of his travel and stay in China recorded by fellow prisoners. 
 Marco Polo talks in this account of the great mineral wealth of the East and the amount of jold that is used on the palaces and buildings. Marco Polo had also identified an ocean beyond China. . The
 Marco Polo was not the first European to reach China , but he was the first to leave a detailed chronicle of his experience. This book inspired Columbus and many other travellers.
He died in 1324 and was buried in the church of San Lorenzo in Venice.
